For book lovers and those in need of a new book during your trip in Vietnam, here are three places where you can go for book shopping in Hanoi. I personally love visiting a bookshop even if I’m not in need of a new book because I just love the atmosphere and experience of exploring books. And these are the places where I go for wandering around and book shopping. The list includes book streets as well as bookshops and stores in and around Old Quarter, Hanoi.
Thang Long Bookshop – Old Quarter, Hanoi

Thang Long Bookshop was the very first bookshop I discovered in Hanoi. It is quite a big store on Trang Tien street at the south of Hoan Kiem lake. They have a section for English books in one corner as well as a stationery section in another corner. I visit here time to time to wander around and also it’s the place I go for if I’m in need of any stationery items.

Hanoi Book Street – Pho Sach Ha Noi

Pho Sach Ha Noi literally means Book Street Hanoi and it’s one of the very few walking streets in Hanoi. There are small bookshop buildings along both sides of the street. Frankly speaking, I found that English books sold here are quite limited. However, what I love about this street is that it’s walking street and the nicely paved road makes it a great place for a peaceful walk and the outdoor cafe in the middle of the street is perfect to rest and read a book.

Dinh Le Book Street

My favourite place of the three is this book street on Dinh Le street. There are about 10 bookstores on this street and each bookshop has a decent range of English books. My go-to shop is number 7 on this street because they have the most extensive list of English books of all.
